About Florida Vision Alliance
A nonprofit for the blind and visually impaired
Florida Vision Alliance (FVA) is a nonprofit for the blind and visually impaired dedicated to practical accessibility and real independence. We build programs and technology that help people live, learn, work, and participate fully in their communities.
What we do
• Assistive Technology & AI: Training and tools (screen readers, braille displays, voice control, OCR, AI assistants) that make daily tasks faster and more accessible.
• Apps & SaaS Solutions: Inclusive software and mobile apps designed for the disability community, with WCAG-aligned interfaces and testing by real users.
• Accessible Transportation: Ride support designed with accessibility at its core so members can get to work, school, healthcare, and community events.
• Entrepreneurship & Skills: Coaching, marketing, and digital skills so creators and founders with low vision can launch and grow businesses.
How we work
We co-create with the community. People who are blind or have low vision help shape every feature and service. Our programs follow accessibility standards (WCAG) and universal design, so tools work on iOS, Android, and web with screen readers, captions, high contrast, and keyboard/switch access.
Impact and inclusion
Our focus is independence and opportunity—reducing barriers in education, employment, transportation, and daily living. We partner with schools, employers, healthcare providers, and local organizations to expand access and measure results.
